Surprise! Design

For my father’s 60th surprise birthday party, my mom asked me to create a unique and memorable invitation for guests. Since it was a wine tasting paired with a four-course meal, I screen-printed the invitation onto a white linen napkin and tucked a cork inside each mailer. To keep the surprise under wraps, the mailing box cheekily advised guests to “Put a cork in it.”

Looking back, I probably wouldn’t use seven different typefaces if I were designing it today. But it made for a fun, quirky invitation—and best of all, everyone came!
